The Club is actively seeking to increase its membership from 580 to 600. We welcome anyone with an interest in bowls; whether you are new to bowls or an experienced bowler new to the area. Whoever you are, we would like to meet you and welcome you to our club.
There is an urban myth that bowls is something you do when you retire. Indeed, many people do, but if you have seen bowls on TV you will know that the National squad are mostly in their twenties and thirties.
At WBIBC you can play at a time and level that suits you regardless of your age, ability or experience.
There really is something for everyone from ‘turn up and join in’ 2 hour sessions to more competitive bowls at League, County and National level. The majority of our members play in Club league games two or three times a week but the choice is yours. We also enjoy weekend friendly matches against other bowls clubs when we play for 3-4 hours and then have a two-course meal afterwards, all for just £13.00.
Your first indoor bowls ‘Taster’ session is always FREE so why not give it a go?
Our next FREE OPEN WEEKEND is on Saturday, 10th January, 2026 from 10 am – 2 pm for you to come along and give bowls a try with nothing to pay.
BEGINNERS ADULT COACHING
At Open Weekend you can book your place on one of our Beginners Coaching courses by joining as a Temporary Member (valid for 3 months) for £25 which includes 8 lessons by our qualified coaches. The next Beginners Coaching courses will start on Saturday, 17th January 2026 from 9-11 am OR Monday, 19th January from 5-7 pm.
Yes, that’s 8 x 2 hour lessons of coaching for just £25! If you need further coaching or would like to practice on your own or with your new friends, then this is available at £4.40 for a 2-hour session or £2.50 for a 1 hour session.
We hope you will carry on bowling after completing the coaching course and 3 months membership but you must then upgrade to Full Membership at the pro rata fee pertaining to the month of joining.
YOUTH COACHING – for 9 – 18 year olds is FREE and takes place on Sunday evenings at 6.00 pm. Enquiries to Mike on 07799 315665

Levels of Membership and Fees from 1st October, 2025 – 30th September, 2026
Temporary Membership (3 months) – £25 for NEW bowlers, includes 8 x 2 hr coaching lessons, with option to upgrade to Full Playing Membership. (A sliding fee scale, depending on when you join, applies to first year Full Membership only).
Full Membership – £135 pa. (A sliding fee scale, depending on when you join, applies to first year only).
Social Membership (all ages) – £20.00 pa
Youth Membership (9-18) – £15.00 pa
Members Green Fees (per player) :
2 hour session – Adult £4.40, Youth £2
1 hour practice session – Adult £2.50, Youth £1
Inter-Club Match fee – £13.00 to include full meal
Locker – £10 deposit, £6 per annum
Replacement club card or locker key – £10
