The club has upgraded all of its lighting to LED. We hope this will be appreciated by its members.
Here are a few of the questions / answers about the change:
1) What was involved?
Replacement of the Rink, Lounge and Dining lighting with similar size LED panels, replacing any small existing light units and the external Flood lights.
2) Will the cost eventually save the club money?
We should see a reduction in our lighting bill of around £4,000 / year. A Carbon Energy Grant has been successfully awarded for £5,000. Cost of upgrade will be recovered in 4-5 years and then provide a substantial saving to the club running cost.
3) What is the LED lighting like and how long will it last
Rink LED lighting will provide a ‘Daylight’ presentation with the Lounge / Dining Room being ‘Warm White’, which should give a pleasant contrast.
Rink lighting ‘LUX’ level now complies with Sports England guidance for Indoor Bowls Clubs
LED units are now providing 15 – 25 years usage.
5) Are we changing to soon, could we be guinea pigs?
Camdon Lighting have installed over 50 LED lighting scheme’s for Indoor Bowls clubs., so this should give us confidence that it is now time to change.
Many thanks
